Thessaloniki, October 15, 2026 — FARIA Renewables held the official inauguration of FARIA GALANI BESS, one of the first battery energy storage projects to be developed in Greece, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in Galanovrysi, Elassona.

FARIA GALANI BESS has a rated power capacity of 49.9 MW and an energy storage capacity of 134.16 MWh, representing a significant addition to Greece’s energy storage infrastructure. The project, which was energized in July 2026, strengthens the country’s capacity to store and make more efficient use of electricity, contributing to the flexibility and reliability of the Greek power system.

The official inauguration was attended by representatives of the Region of Thessaly and local government, as well as representatives of institutional and energy sector bodies, the financial sector and partner companies.

The event opened with brief welcome addresses by Thaleia Valkouma, CEO and Chairwoman of FARIA Renewables, and Dimitris Kintsakis, CEO and Vice Chairman of FARIA Renewables. In her remarks, Ms. Valkouma stated: “FARIA GALANI BESS represents a major milestone in FARIA Renewables’ growth journey and reaffirms our strategic commitment to investing in modern energy infrastructure that addresses the real needs of the electricity system, enhancing its flexibility, reliability and sustainability. At the same time, the project demonstrates the strength of our integrated and vertically structured business model. Beyond our role as an investor and Independent Power Producer (IPP), we have technical expertise and operational capabilities to deliver complex energy projects, providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services both for our own portfolio and for third parties. At FARIA Renewables, we believe that the energy transition must create lasting value for the economy, the environment and society. This is why our growth strategy is built on three core pillars: technological innovation, environmental protection and the sustainable development of local communities.”

For his part, Mr. Kintsakis emphasized: “The implementation of FARIA GALANI BESS is a significant achievement for our team and demonstrates our ability to effectively manage every stage of a complex energy project, from design and equipment procurement through to construction and completion. The expertise of our people, the coordination of the various workstreams and our close collaboration with our technology partners have been instrumental in the successful implementation of this investment. Building on the experience we have gained, we continue to strengthen our capabilities in the development and construction of modern energy infrastructure.”

The event continued with addresses by Ms. Despoina Paliarouta, Secretary General for Energy and Mineral Resources, Ms. Rena Karalariotou, Secretary General of the Decentralized Administration of Thessaly and Central Greece, Mr. Giannis Karypidis, Member of the Hellenic Parliament for Larissa, Mr. Grigoris Gkountopoulos and Mr. Vasilis Simos, Deputy Heads of the Region, Mr. Nikos Gatsas, Mayor of Elassona, and Mr. Apostolos Panos, President of the Hellenic Association of Energy Storage Systems (HAESS).

The event concluded with a technical presentation by Mr. Agis Mantziaris, Head of Construction at FARIA Renewables.
